Collaborative Law Coaching
The coach involved in a collaborative divorce case is viewed as extremely valuable and most of the time critical in facilitating, advancing and enhancing the collaborative divorce process. I am the member of the team that remains neutral throughout the process. I do not represent, advocate or favor one interest, option or decision over another rather act as an advocate for the collaborative process. I work to ensure the process is moving at the most useful pace and that time is being used to best fit the needs of the case and clients. I assist with managing emotions both through preparation meetings, during the collaborative meetings and if needed in between meetings. I work to facilitate productive and effective communication among clients and the professional team as a whole. I not only focus on making your collaborative divorce process the most productive it can be during the divorce, but also work to create opportunities for lasting effective communication and healthy ways of functioning in your newly defined relationship as individuals and co-parents.
When items relating to children and parenting plans are discussed, I can be utilized as an active resource both in individual sessions with the parents and during the team meetings. The team can assess appropriateness of the coach taking on this role or if a child specialist should be considered. A child specialist is a collaborative professional that may be considered if parents are having a difficult time agreeing on how to best meet the needs of their children and seek advice and assistance specific to their child's needs.
