Welcome!

Lisa Vendetti, LICSW is a graduate of Columbia's School of Social Work and is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).  Lisa has worked for over a decade providing counseling services to children, adolescents and their families in community, school, home and office settings.  She has led trainings, offered to school faculty, students and community colleagues, on a variety of topics in the field.  During this time she provided clinical supervision and training to supervisory, clinical, paraprofessional and graduate students working in the CBHI (Child Behavioral Health Initiative) In Home Family Therapy Program.  Lisa consistently collaborated with, and when requested would provide consultation to, different child and family organizations, schools and other community professionals faced with challenging circumstances.  The experience of working with so many inspiring and resilient children, adolescents, parents and families over the past years has shaped the decision to start a practice of her own.  Her style is one that is collaborative, interactive, patient, understanding and strength-focused.

Lisa has completed training adhering to the Massachusetts Confidentiality Statute (MGL ch 233 sec 23C and rule 8(c)(i) of the Supreme Judicial court's uniform rules on dispute resolution in providing mediation services and is an active member of the Massachusetts Council of Family Mediation (MCFM).  Additionally, she has been trained in Collaborative Law as a Collaborative Law Coach/Neutral Facilitator through the Massachusetts Collaborative Law Counsel (MCLC) and is an active member with the organization.

Services

Mediation Services:  Each clients' interests are fully explored, heard and honored, both in the private and confidential mediation process and in the resulting agreement.  The mediation process allows family members the opportunity to fairly, clearly, and creatively construct their futures in lasting positive ways, with dignity.  Through mediation, clarity and resolution can be achieved without the emotional and financial trauma that is often associated with long, drawn out and non-private court proceedings.

Counseling Services:  Unconditional positive regard within the therapeutic relationship in the face of whatever the person in treatment may be experiencing is the first building block for change, creating opportunities to heal.  Although it may not always feel this way, a person is greater than his or her problems.  Problems may exist but they do not define who you are.  You are the expert on your own life, you know yourself (or have the potential to know yourself) better than anyone else and each person is equipped with the inner resources and has the capacity for change, if they choose.  Therapy can be a place to work on developing or accessing these resources.

Collaborative Law Coaching: The Collaborative Law Coach/Neutral Facilitator is part of the interdisciplinary collaborative divorce team who serves as a neutral team member managing process, client behavior and emotions, provides expert advice on the psychology of divorce, identifies and reinforces effective communication between clients, educates attorneys about the communication dynamics and intervenes to contain and manage conflict.
